Egypt’s coach, Carlos Queiroz has attributed his team’s loss to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the ongoing AFCON games to poor performance.
Queiroz who spoke in a post- match interview stated the Pharaohs were no where to the found on the pitch in the game against Augustine Eguavoen’s side, leading to a below par performance.
He said,
“The performance in the first half was very poor and this is the truth, we were not on the field. We started playing in the second half and there was no reason for this failure and loss against Nigeria.”
The Portuguese went on to highlight the position of the team with the turn out of events.
“We lost this match but there are six points we must get against Sudan and Guinea Bissau to qualify.”
