Abure Regains Position As Labour Party National Chairman | READ DETAILS
Barrister Julius Abure, has been reinstated as the National Chairman of the Labour Party by an Edo State High Court, following a suit he and the executives of Labour Party Ward 3, in Esan North East of the State contesting his suspension.
In his ruling on Friday, May 26, Justice Emmanuel Aihamoje struck out the notice of suspension issued against Julius Abure, by some party members at the ward level.
Justice Aihamaje ruled that the executives in Uromi in ward 3, lacks power under the Labour Party Constitution; Act 13 & 17 and the Electoral Act 2022, as amended, to remove the national chairman of the party.
The judge therefore dismissed the suspension suit for lack of merit and also barred Lamidi Apapa and his faction from parading themselves as Labour Party executives.
