The height of Iberibe is when you’re angry that people are contesting against a failed governor from your community, LGA, or zone; Didn’t people contest against failed previous governors?
You claim that he has performed; shouldn’t his performance give him confidence as he goes into the race? Why cause confusion and sectional disaffection? Why incite hate and disunity? Shouldn’t the people decide who governs them? And if your governor is seeking reelection for the good of the people, shouldn’t his strategy be in conformity with laid down democratic guidelines? Shouldn’t he comport himself in a way that would not endanger the lives of the people, or put question mark on the sincerity of his aspiration?
Abia is bigger than any individual, and the lives of Abians are more important than the aspirations of all the candidates.
People are discussing issues in Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu; states that are doing far better than us, while some sectional biggots are busy dragging us down the ladder in pursuit of selfish political interest, while pretending to be defending the interest of the same people they are oppressing.
Otti was unanimously chosen by Abians during the last election, unfortunately, Okezie Ikpeazu was declared the governor. Millions of Abians were heartbroken, but Otti didn’t exploit their bitterness and boiling anger to incite hate or violence, rather he approached the court.
When a court of Appeal Sitting in Owerri declared him governor on the 31st of December, 2015, Abia was literally electrified, as spontaneous celebration hit every part of Abia.
Abia state government and the PDP went on air in panic raising false alarm about Otti’s move to be sworn in. They issued more than 100 Press Releases on BCA Radio and TV in a dsy; they ignorantly thought Otti was an ignoramus or a self serving desperado like them.
A certain top INEC official from the South East approached Otti to arrange for him to be issued with a Certificate of Return, and proceed with his swearing in, in like with the Court of Appeal’s explicit directive that he be immediately sworn in, but Alex Otti politely turned down the offer. He made it clear that even though he is not a lawyer, but that he knew his opponent had the right to appeal to the Supreme Court. That’s Vintage Alex Otti; he has never done anything to cause chaos in Abia, sadly, agents and supporters of the present government took that for granted, that’s why their attempt to repeat the 2015 insane style of politicking is being resisted and shall be fully resisted.
Both the Igbeozu kind of violent protest, the hate speech, the verbal attacks and divisive sectional rhetoric shall be effectively repelled to the fullest.
It’s very insulting and provocative for Alex Otti’s inferior and his godfathers to attempt to cow Abians who are the original owners of the state.
Politics should not be seen as a full time job which people must do to survive economically, and people must not pursue power as if their lives depend on it.
People ran against Orji Uzor Kalu, and his appointees were desperate for him to win so that they could continue to plunder Abia; no sectional sentiments were introduced by his supporters and kinsmen.
People ran against T. A. Orji, after the masses had humiliated him on many occasions. Through hook and crook, he returned to power; his supporters and kinsmen didn’t resort to preaching sectional hatred.
If Okezie Ikpeazu can’t withstand the heat of being confronted in a democratic contest, he should quietly go home and take a chill.
The fact that Ikpeazu and his supporters are playing politics of sectional hate and divisiveness in his bid to acquire power, put serious question on mark on the reasons behind his aspiration.
Abians already know those to hold responsible should Abia go up in flames.
Enough Is Enough.
Let’s support the man who has shown consistency, courage, character, class and capacity to salvage Abia state.
Vote Alex Otti…….Vote APGA all the way!
It’s time for so
