The insecurity bedeviling Umunneochi Local Government Area in Abia State seems to be receiving the desired attention as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the Igwe’s have donated three Hilux patrol trucks to help combat the notorious kidnappers that are rampaging in that area.
The member representing Umunneochi state constituency and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governorship Candidate, Honorable Barr. Okey Igwe today extolled the governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for his prompt intervention in the insecurity challenge that has bedeviled Umuneochi recently. Barr. Igwe commended the governor for the tactical aerial surveillance of the area that has relatively deterred the bandits ravaging the area and encouraged him to ratchet-up the pressure and tighten the tactical surveillance.
Barr. Igwe made these remarks earlier today while handing over logistics support material to the chairman of the special security committee set up by the governor, HRM Eze Okechukwu Chukwuji, Logu1 of Amuda. He handed over the following to support ground operations:
- 1 hilux patrol truck donated by the governor and start off cash support also from the governor
- 2 hilux patrol trucks donated by Barr. Okey Igwe and his brother Sir. Dr. Chris Odinaka Igwe
- Security Motorcycles and other undisclosed materials donated by Barr. Okey
Barr. Okey encouraged the chairman of the security committee to swiftly hand over the materials to the appropriate units and local vigilantes intensify the effort towards rooting out the kidnappers and bandits.
HRM Eze Okey Chukwuji, Logu 1 of Amuda thanked the governor and Barr. Okey Igwe for their generous gesture and pledged to judiciously manage the items.
In attendance were other Ezes, the three clan President Generals of Umunneochi and youth Leaders.
