Abia: “Stop Fighting The Church”, Apostle Ibeziem Okezue Warns Ngozi Nweke 

…. Christ The Way Church of God Wins In Court, defeats Ngozi Nweke 

The Magistrate Court sitting in Umuahia ,Abia state capital ,has today being Monday ,21st of September ,2020 ,set aside the court judgment of 2018 ,number U/314/2018 ,in favour of the Founder and Registered Trustee of the Christ The Way Church of God incorporated, Apostle Dr Augustine Ibeziem Okezue.

Recall that the Founder of the church and the church had filed a suit challenging what they described as a fraudulent judgment against the church obtained by Mrs Ngozi Nweke ,ordering the church to vacate the church building at No 21 Arochukwu street Umuahia .

However, delivering his judgment ,the presiding Magistrate ,His Worship I.U. Kalu stated as follows:
1: That the court refused the preliminary objection challenging his jurisdiction to set aside suit number U/314/2018 .
2: The court further granted leave to the Applicant (the Christ the Way Church of God incorporated) to the application to set aside the judgment of U/314/2018.
3: The court also set aside the judgment in the said suit as well as Execution made with respect to the suit .
4 : The court ordered the plaintiff ,Mrs Ngozi Nweke to return the properties of the Defendant Applicant ( The Christ the way Church ) that were removed.
5 : The court ordered for the Retrial and that the name of Rev.Apostle Dr Augustine Ibeziem Okezue should be joined as Defendant.

6: The court awarded a cost of N20000 Naira in favour of the applicant ( the Christ the way church) against the plaintiff respondent ,Mrs Ngozi Nweke.

Speaking to AFNEWS at the court premises ,shortly after the judgment, the Chief Counsel to the Christ the way church ,Professor Uwadineke C Kalu of the House of David Chambers ,described the judgment as ” a very good one .it shows that the judiciary is still the last hope of the common man .It depicts that impunity can not continue forever. How can you take a church ,convert it and claim that it was sold to you by somebody ,who never sold it ,it is wrong ”

According to him , ” the Magistrate today has done the right thing ,to return the church to the proper owners .The life president of the church ,who is also the Founder of the church was not serve even a notice, he should properly be served and be brought in as a party in any matter concerning the church he founded ” while urging the other party to go home and refect over the judgment and then leave impunity ,saying it does not pay ,adding ” that in the long run the long arm of the law will catch up with any body who is going contrary to what the law says ,it does not matter the number of days ,or years ,impunity can never survive ,what is wrong is wrong, you can not take the building of the church through fraudulent means and think you can convert it to your property” he said.

Reacting to the judgment, the Founder and Registered trustee of the Christ the way church ,Apostle Dr Augustine Ibeziem Okezue, expressed his joy over the judgment, revealing that he started his missionary life shortly after the civil war and for the past 48 years he acquired that property, he never had issues with any body, even the husband of the woman that is fighting us now.Mr Jokin Jagwa did not disturbed us until his death , ” it was after his death that his wife Ngozi Nweke started fighting us, dragging our church building ,even obtained fraudulent court judgment pushing the church properties outside .

She claimed to have bought the church building 3.5 million Naira through someone that is not a church member, Mr Chinemere ,my son without my knowledge.

Apostle Dr Augustine Ibeziem Okezue therefore called on the government and the general public to urge Mrs Ngozi Nweke to stop fighting the church.

In this vein ,the wife of the Founder, pastor Mrs Adanma Okezue expressed happiness over the judgment, saying the church was built since 48 years ago and that they were surprise by the recent behaviors of Mrs Ngozi Nweke against the church.
