The Abia State Security Fund (ASSF) Bill, 2020, passed its First Reading today in the Abia State House of Assembly.
The bill which is sponsored by the majority leader of the House, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu, seeks to Establish a Fund to assist Security Agencies in Abia State.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Abia State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Hon. Stanley Nwabuisi, presented the Report of the Joint Committee on Health and Education based on HAB 4 of 2019: The Abia State University Teaching Hospital Management Board Bill.
The Chairman said “That the Bill has no conflict with any existing Law and should be passed into Law accordingly”.
The House subsequently adopted the Report presented by the Chairman as a Working Document of the House.
The House also set up a committee to look into the petition of unlawful closure of a Motor Park in Uturu, Isiukwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
