The Abia State Panel of Judicial Inquiry on Police Brutality and Extra Judicial Killing, today, April 20, 2021, ended its hearing sessions.

Following the #EndSARS, the Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, on October 26, 2020, set up a 16-man panel headed by Justice SN Imo (rtd), to look into alleged brutality and extra judicial killings by security personnel in the State from 2015 to date.

At the inauguration,  the panel was given 12 weeks to submit a comprehensive report on their investigation and findings.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had regretted the  destruction on properties in the State during the #EndSARS protest. He urged the youth to desist from further damages and destruction.

Calling it a wrap today, Justice Imo thanked all who participated in the sessions and promised that the panel will ensure that proper recommendations are made and justice is served to affected complainants.

The panel adjourned today for further recommendation on all complaints brought before the panel.
