One Ajuluchukwu Olunwa has alleged before the Abia State Panel of Inquiry, that he contacted Peritoneum Disorder in a police cell after he was arrested.
The Peritoneum is a silk -like membrane that lines the inner abdominal wall and covers the organs within the abdomen.
The disorder is usually caused by bacterial or fungal infection.
According to Olunwa, he was arrested alongside three others.
” Nobody wrote any petition to the police against me. It was Mr Phillip Uchendu that a petition was levelled against.
” The police left me in the cell for a solid 6 days. We were 4 arrested. One person collapsed and was foaming on the 5th day in cell. I think the police took him to a hospital.
“Mr Amaobi Orji was released on the 2nd day because he had a severe sickness .
” After my release, I went to El-shaddai hospital and Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, where my teeth was removed . The slap they gave me was very severe.
On the symptoms of Peritoneum Disorder, Mr Olunwa said;
” Sometimes, I have migraine headaches, and at times, I feel lost. I was not experiencing these before I was arrested”.
Mr Olunwa sort a compensation of N20M and pleaded that justice is served.
