The 2023 governorship election in Abia State has become more interesting with the emergence of Honorable Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU) as the governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the state.
The primary election which took place at Jones Place located along Azikiwe Road in Umuahia on Sunday 5th June 2022, saw multitude of party members and supporters endorsing Onyekwere Akym Uche as their consensus candidate.
While declaring Onyekwere as the Gubernatorial candidate of AA in Abia State, the national publicity secretary of the party Honorable Oguji Ugochukwu revealed that out of 4 aspirants that aspired to fly the flag of Action Alliance in Abia State, the party saw Onyekwere Akym Uche as the only aspirant that is ready, prepared and capable to led the state.
In his acceptance speech, Onyekwere appreciated the leadership of the party at all levels and his supporters for standing by him and believing in him.
He assured Abians that his administration will focus on education, infrastructural development, healthcare, agriculture, job creation and other sectors if he emerges as governor.
Onyekwere Akym Uche went further to reveal that his administration will make sure that salaries and other wages are paid to deserving Abians and on time.
While interacting with the State Chairman of Action Alliance (AA) Honorable Tony C. Orji, he stated that the long waited change that Abians deserve have come and urged all voters in Abia State to queue behind Onyekwere Akym Uche to make sure he wins the election.
