Former Abia State PDP Chairman, Senator Emma Nwaka, has applauded the ongoing infrastructural renewal in Aba, describing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s commitment as worthy of support by all residents of the city.
Senator Nwaka noted that Aba, the commercial hub of Eastern Nigeria and Abia’s major revenue earner, will wear a modern look when the projects are completed.
“What is going on in Aba is impressive. His Excellency has done a great job marketing Made-in-Aba products to a wider audience. Traders have started returning to Aba from as far as Sokoto and West African countries. Abia State has also emerged the 3rd highest attractor of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Nigeria, according to a recent NBS release
“Improved infrastructure will further boost profit for the business community and shore up the State’s internally generated revenue which will, in turn, free up funds for education, healthcare and other pressing needs in other parts of the state”.
Senator Nwaka also commended Governor Ikpeazu for his courageous decision to relocate the abattoir from the Waterside to the city’s outskirts, ultimately renewing Aba’s aesthetic look and feel while enhancing environmental hygiene and air quality for residents.
“I also appreciate Governor Ikpeazu’s pledge to complete the Abia State Government House, which the previous administration started. Continuity is important in governance for rapid development. Altogether, these projects will make Abians proud for their unflinching support to our Great party, the PDP”.
