A middle-aged man identified as Jamilu Shinkafi who tested positive for coronavirus infection has been declared wanted by the Zamfara State government.

Shinkafi was said to have fled after testing positive to the virus.

The development was confirmed by the state Health Commissioner, Yahaya Kanoma who added that efforts have been activated to track and find the fleeing man.

Kanoma added that the state government has ordered the disinfection of Jamilu’s house as well as the entire area.

“We are still searching for him. He was in Abuja yesterday and today he left for Kaduna. We will surely arrest him.

“We even informed the Federal Ministry of Health about this sad development and Insha Allah, we are going to track him and arrest him,” he told Punch.

The commissioner also appealed to members of the public who had recent contact with Shinkafi to report to the isolation centre for testing.
