How Davido Made King Charles III Fall in Love with Pidgin English – REVEALED!

British Monarch King Charles III has revealed how Nigerian superstar Davido made him fall in love with Pidgin English. The King, in a new Apple Music show, shared his admiration for Afrobeats and named Davido’s Kante as one of his favorite songs. Read more!

British monarch, King Charles III, has made a surprising revelation about his admiration for Nigerian music superstar, Davido, and how his music has influenced the King’s growing interest in Pidgin English.

In the latest episode of Apple Music’s newly launched show, The King’s Music Room, which premiered on Monday, King Charles III disclosed that Davido’s hit song Kante, featuring Fave, has been a major influence on his evolving taste in music and language. The British monarch admitted that Afrobeats, particularly Davido’s music, has made him develop a fondness for Pidgin English, a widely spoken informal language across West Africa.

“Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” King Charles III revealed during the show.

His declaration has sparked excitement among Nigerians and Afrobeats lovers worldwide, as it underscores the global influence of Nigerian music on culture and entertainment beyond Africa.

This latest revelation marks yet another instance of global icons recognizing the widespread appeal of Nigerian music. Afrobeats has, over the years, penetrated mainstream Western culture, with several international celebrities acknowledging its impact.

The King’s statement has particularly resonated with Nigerians, given the colonial ties between the UK and Nigeria. His willingness to learn and speak Pidgin English is being seen as a symbolic gesture of cultural appreciation.

Shortly after the King’s remarks surfaced online, Davido took to his Instagram story to acknowledge the royal endorsement. In a repost of the video, the ‘Unavailable’ crooner gave a shout-out to the royal family, further cementing his status as a global music icon.

Fans and celebrities alike have flooded social media with reactions, celebrating the fact that a British monarch openly appreciates Nigerian music and language. Many have suggested that King Charles III should try his first Pidgin phrase when he visits Nigeria next.

This revelation further highlights the increasing influence of Nigerian music on the international stage. Afrobeats has grown into a global force, with artists like Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid pushing the genre beyond Africa’s borders.

With King Charles III publicly embracing Afrobeats and Pidgin English, the genre’s appeal has reached yet another unprecedented milestone.
