El-Rufai’s media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, confirmed the visit in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. “Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to visit Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare,” Adekeye tweeted, without revealing further details about the purpose of the meetings.

El-Rufai’s visit to Lagos comes just days after he paid a similar visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, another move that sparked conversations about his political trajectory.
