LG Polls: APC Rivers State Chairman Hail RSIEC for Peaceful and Well-Coordinated Election

APC and APP candidates applauded RSIEC for conducting a peaceful and well-coordinated Rivers LG election. While Chief Emeka Beke of APC praised the calm voting process, APP’s Barr. Israel Abosi gave RSIEC a 95% score, citing their efficient handling of the polls.

Port Harcourt – Candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Action Peoples Party (APP) have lauded the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for organizing a peaceful and well-coordinated Local Government election in Rivers State.

Speaking after casting his vote at Rumuaokpasi Hall, Ward 3, Unit 4 in Emohua Local Government Area, Chief Emeka Beke, Chairman of the APC in the state, commended RSIEC for ensuring smooth electoral proceedings. Despite the absence of security personnel at his polling unit, Beke expressed satisfaction with the calm atmosphere, adding that the election would likely remain peaceful across the state.

“The election is calm and well-coordinated without the presence of security men. People are conducting themselves well, and turnout has been satisfactory,” Beke noted. However, he condemned the recent burning of a factional APC secretariat, distancing his party from the incident.

In a similar vein, Prince Charles Beke, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, also praised RSIEC for conducting a smooth and timely election process in his polling unit. He emphasized that previous local government elections often experienced clashes, but this election stood out for its peaceful nature and proper organization.

Meanwhile, Barrister Israel Abosi, the Chairmanship Candidate of the APP in Ikwerre Local Government Area, expressed his surprise at the peaceful nature of the election in his area, which has historically been a hotspot for electoral violence. Abosi gave RSIEC a remarkable score of 95%, stating that the electoral body surpassed the expectations of the people in delivering a credible election.

“This is one of the most peaceful elections in the history of Ikwerre LGA. RSIEC has done well and deserves a high score for their efforts,” Abosi remarked after casting his vote at Unit 3, Ward 6, Elele Town.

As the Rivers LG election progresses, candidates continue to express confidence in the process, hoping for peaceful and transparent outcomes.
