LG POLL CRISIS: Go To Rivers State Now And Support Fubara – Ugochinyere Urge PDP Govs. |READ DETAILS

Ugochinyere calls on PDP governors to stand with Governor Fubara amid growing federal interference in Rivers State. He urges immediate action to protect democracy and prevent further political crisis.

A member of the House of Representatives, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has called on governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stand in solidarity with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Ugochinyere, known for his strong stance on democratic values, urged the PDP governors to “fly down” to Rivers State to show their support as the political battle between Fubara and former governor Nyesom Wike intensifies.

The lawmaker expressed his concerns over the federal agents’ alleged interference in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday. He emphasized that the rights of Rivers people to vote freely are under attack and urged opposition governors to act swiftly to protect democracy in the state.

The ongoing political friction between Governor Fubara and Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has created a tense atmosphere in Rivers State. This tug-of-war has raised alarms about federal involvement, with the police allegedly attempting to manipulate the local government elections. Ugochinyere emphasized that it is a time for strong leadership and solidarity, urging his fellow PDP governors not to sit idly by.

He criticized the opposition for making light of the situation, stating that “serious opposition governors” would have already flown to Rivers State to stand with Fubara, who has shown immense courage in defending democratic processes. He further warned that failure to act now could have far-reaching consequences, not just for Rivers State but for other states as well.

Ugochinyere’s message was clear: PDP governors must stop “making opposition look like jokers” and take a bold stand in Rivers State. He warned that what happens in Rivers could set a precedent for other states, urging opposition leaders to take swift, decisive action to prevent any further attacks on democracy.

He called the alleged attempt by police officers to manipulate electoral materials a “treasonable action,” demanding strong condemnation from opposition governors. Ugochinyere also hinted at Wike’s continued influence in the state, urging party leaders to rise above the noise and prove their leadership.
