In a bid to attract more investment to Abia State, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem, has called on traders at Alaba International Market to consider bringing their investments back home. During a strategic meeting held with the market’s leadership on September 11, 2024, Chief Inem emphasized the state’s readiness to provide a conducive environment for businesses under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti.
Chief Nwaka Inem highlighted several initiatives by the Abia State Government aimed at creating an investor-friendly climate. “We are committed to ensuring that Aba and the rest of Abia State are safe and conducive for business. Governor Alex Otti has prioritized road construction, maintenance, security, and the elimination of double taxation to ease the process of doing business,” he stated.
The meeting was marked by enthusiasm from traders who expressed interest in investing in Aba but raised concerns about security as a major barrier. Chief Nwaka Inem reassured them that Governor Otti is taking security seriously and has put measures in place to ensure the safety of all citizens and investors.
Also present at the meeting, Abia State Ambassador and promoter, Amb. Dr. Osita Offor, known as ‘De Ultimate Commander,’ encouraged the traders to think about investing back home. He unveiled plans for a Smart Warehouse and Shop project in Aba, inviting the traders to participate in this groundbreaking initiative when the time is ripe.
As part of the state government’s efforts to stimulate economic growth, these engagements reflect a broader strategy to attract investments, create jobs, and revitalize Abia’s economic landscape. With these assurances, Chief Inem urged the traders to take advantage of the new investment opportunities that await them in Abia.
Governor Otti’s administration continues to extend a welcoming hand to investors, emphasizing that Abia is open for business and ready for growth.
