How Suspects Were Arrested For Stealing Network Mast Batteries Worth N12M In Benin | READ MORE

Four suspects have been arrested for allegedly stealing batteries worth N12 Million from Airtel Telecommunications mast.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, identified the suspects as; Otete Emmanuel, Onya Ndubisi, Oliver Sodenyi and Okuru Benedict.

The PRO said the suspects were arrested by operatives of Okhuaihe Divisional Police while responding to a distress call from the command’s control room.

The suspects who wore green reflective jacket, were said to have driven a white Toyota Hilux marked EPE 328 HY and packed at Imorta Filling Station along Benin-Agbor Expressway, Benin City.

Robert Daniel, who reported the incident at the Okhuaihe Division, was said to have confronted the suspects alleging that he saw them stealing six batteries.

The police added that the suspects denied the allegation, adding that their vehicle was searched and nothing incriminating was recovered from them.

He said investigation has commenced and the suspects will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Benin for discreet investigation.
