INEC officials, security agents stranded as scarcity of hotels hit Kogi ahead of governorship poll

Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, is experiencing a surge in activities as the governorship poll approaches, with hotels in the area reportedly fully booked just 48 hours before the election.

According to The Nation, visitors arriving in the city are facing challenges securing accommodation due to the forthcoming governorship election.

The Confluence State is witnessing heavy traffic and increased movement around areas such as Galaga Junction, Kabba Junction, and Sabo Market.

Several hotels in Lokoja have reportedly reached their full capacity as room reservations flood in from various sources. Government officials, political parties, Non-Governmental Organizations, and election observers are among those securing accommodations for the event.

Notably, many officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agents, and reporters involved in election duties are facing challenges finding available rooms.
