PEPT: Decisions Taken By The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal So Far

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgement slated to be decided today, has started with the Justices deciding on the petition filed by Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Based on the petition which bothers on the qualification of the Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election Kashim Shettima on the issue of double nomination, the justices decided that the qualification issue is a pre-election matter which should have been decided before the 2023 election.

The justices equally held that the APM lacks the locus standi to institute a matter bothering on the qualification or sponsorship of the vice presidential candidate of the APC.

Based on the decisions above, the justices struck out the petition of APM.
