Abia Governor-Elect, Alex Otti Attends Induction Programme for New Governors in Abuja
The Abia Governor-Elect, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR joined his colleagues at the ongoing Induction programme organised for Governors-Elect by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).
The even which is holding at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, has President Muhammadu Buhari as the Special Guest of Honour.
The Director, Media and Public Affairs, NGF Secretariat, Abdulrazaque Barkindo, had in a statement a few days ago disclosed that the induction programme for incoming and returning governors was the NGF’s flagship program where the incoming governors are supported with special tools to usher them into office in a seamless manner and to assist them move away from campaigns to governance.
He added that the occasion would accord the governors the opportunity to share experiences and compare notes to further strengthen service delivery to the Nigerian people at the sub-national level.
The Abia Governor-Elect would use the opportunity of the three-day programme to also meet and interact with speakers, members of the diplomatic corps, captains of industry and other categories of guests who have histories of accomplishments and service to their people and society in different fields.
Otti, an accomplished technocrat and banker who left the banking industry after reaching the pinnacle of his career as an MD/CEO, was unanimously elected the governor of Abia state in the March 18 historic governorship election that saw activities grounded in different parts of the state as thousands of Abia residents trooped out to celebrate what the people described as Liberation Victory.
Ahead of his inauguration, expectations are already very high as the people look forward to what many analysts have described as a new dawn in the history of the state created in 1991.
Abia has become a special centre of focus since the election of the ex bank Chief, with analysts and opinion moulders predicting an era of economic resurgence and unprecedented development hinged on his antecedents and pedigree.
