Onuigbo Congratulates Otti, Says His Victory Is The Dawn Of A New Era In Abia

The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Sam Onuigbo (Odozi Obodo Gburugburu) has congratulated the Governor-elect of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, on his victory at the polls.

Onuigbo in his congratulatory message on Wednesday, noted that Dr. Otti’s “victory symbolises the dawn of a new era and is testament to the overwhelming desire of the people of Abia State to change the downward trajectory of the State, and seek for new vistas under a visionary, people-centered, accountable, and committed leadership.”

The lawmaker stated that the mandate which Otti has received is an important call to service and therefore advised the governor-elect to prioritize the wellbeing of the people of Abia State over any personal or group interest.

Onuigbo called on all to support the incoming administration irrespective of party affiliation, so as “to achieve the greatest happiness for the highest number of our people who have suffered bad governance for nearly a quarter of a century.”

Onuigbo’s message read;

Subject: Congratulations Dr. Otti: Your Victory Symbolises the Dawn of a New Era in Abia State 
 
I heartily congratulate Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR on his emergence as the Governor-elect of our beloved State, Abia. 
 
2. Dr. Otti’s victory symbolises the dawn of a new era and is testament to the overwhelming desire of the people of Abia State to change the downward trajectory of the State, and seek for new vistas under a visionary, people-centered, accountable, and committed leadership. 
 
3. This mandate is therefore an important call to service, the placement of hope and visions of a brighter future on the shoulders of a man whom the people believe will champion their welfare. Therefore, I charge Dr. Otti to prioritize the wellbeing of the people of Abia State over any personal aggrandizement or narrow groups interest.  
 
4. As an Abian who is committed to the overall welfare of our people, I will be supportive of Dr Otti and his administration and whether in or out of government, will continue to pursue the visions that will bring about public good, growth and development of our beloved State in complementarity with his own visions of a new and greater Abia. 
 
5. Elections are now over and it is incumbent on the people of Abia State irrespective of party affiliations to work with our incoming Governor to achieve the greatest happiness for the highest number of our people who have suffered bad governance for nearly a quarter of a century. 
 
6. Abia is now like a city set on a mountain. The eyes of the world are on us. May Dr. Alex Otti succeed, and may Abia State succeed.
