The Abia North Senatorial candidate of Labour Party, Chief Nnamdi Iro Orji popularly known as Opotoyom was on Wednesday 9th November 2022 presented to the Inyimoka Umong of Abiriba Communal Improvement Union (ACIU).

The leader of Labour Party in Abiriba, Chief Nwaka Inem while presenting the Senatorial hopeful to the union in Aba berated the present administration in the state as well as the previous and present Senator in the zone for neglecting the development of Abiriba community. WATCH VIDEO BELOW:

Nwaka who was a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) hinted that it was because of the negligence of both parties to the well-being of Abiriba and its people that made him leave to join Labour Party, adding that PDP treated them without respect.

“We attracted a project for the rehabilitation of Abiriba Water Regional Scheme, which the Federal Government appropriated N400m for. Let me it clear, Boreholes were drilled and generator provided at by FG, but the state government under PDP that was supposed to make it functional failed due to the inefficiency of the State Water Board. When we confronted them, they said that it was the cost of running the generator that caused it, and that was how that N400m water project became a history under PDP”

Other reasons revealed by Chief Nwaka Inem why Abairba people must not trust or vote PDP includes, failed promise of ring road that was abandoned after 25% work, non-activation of Ugwu court contract, not honouring a pledge of N10M for the rehabilitation of Enuda high school and abandoning abiriba importers to their fate with inaccessible roads for movement of goods.

According to him, Mr. Orji has shown capacity and has the interest of the people of Abiriba at heart, which is the reason he has decided to throw his weight behind him to go the Green Chamber.

Nwaka, who is also a member of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council solicited support for Mr. Orji from the Union and Abiriba people as a whole, and pledged that he would be at the forefront to make sure that he delivers on his promises.

“I ask the people of Abiriba to support Orji, and I have volunteered to make sure that he would not disappoint as I would work for his removal if he does otherwise”

He acknowledged that it will not be an easy task owing to the caliber of individuals contesting for the same position in the zone, but assured Mr. Orji of the support of “ndi” Abiriba’s votes and support.

In the same vein, Nwaka urged the Abiriba community to support Peter Obi for president and Alex Otti for Governor  if they desire the development of the nation, state and the growth of their businesses.

Speaking in appreciation, Mr. Orji thanked the union for the support and confidence reposed on him by them and called on the people of Abiriba to vote for the party candidates at all levels, especially its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

He stated that for Mr. Obi to succeed as the president come next year, he must have Senators and well as Federal House members in the Red and Green Chambers who would help to implement his policies.

He promised to work with Mr. Obi who he said he worked with as Trust Members at Fidelity Bank to bring dividends of democracy come next year if he emerges as the Senator Representing them.

While responding, Eze Inyimoka and Umong prayed and endorsed Chief Nnamdi Iro Orji and other Labour Party candidates including Honorable Emeka Nnamani (Aba North/South Federal Constituency), Honorable Destiny Nwagwu (Aba North State Constituency) and others. He assured them of the support of Abiriba people and urged them to protect the right of the people.

Present during the meeting includes; Chief Stephen Abbah, Chief Sam Agwu Samduke, Chief Eke Eleanya Kalu, Chief Eme Kalu Eku, Prince Anyanso George, Chief Ogbuosuo, Chief Ogburuawu Odozi Obodo and many other dignitaries including representatives of the 13 age grades of Abiriba.
