ABIA 2023: Why I Dumped PDP After 16 Years – Rt. Hon. Darlington Nwokocha
Honorable Darlington Nwokocha (Darloo), the current member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal constituency and the 2023 candidate of the Labour Party for Abia Central senatorial district has revealed during an interview that he will be taking over from Senator T.A Orji as senator representing Abia Central. He equally explained why he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abia state after years of being a strong member.
Nwokocha while speaking to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER on Monday during his campaign flag off in Nvosi, blamed his withdrawal form the PDP on the party leaders’ decision to go against the normal procedures of election primaries.
“I left PDP because they refused to do what we the anchored members of PDP used to do before now.
“There is no person in PDP before now that has displayed or demonstrated PDP more than myself as far as Abia state is concerned. I’ve been in PDP since ages” Nwokocha said.

He noted that those steering the wheels of PDP currently, came because of status and position adding that; “they refused to do the rudimental approach when it comes to processes of engagement and primaries. They only handpicked; that was not the way we used to do it”.
He recounted the numerous projects he has attracted for his constituents in his years of being in various elective position. He expressed confidence that he has the structure to win the 2023 election adding that “we (Labour Party) have the heart of the people”.
Recall that Darlington Nwokocha is among the strongholds of PDP in Abia state that deserted the party following controversies that rocked the selection of delegates and the election primaries entirely ahead of the 2023 elections.
