OPINION: Alex Otti Would End The Destructive Dichotomy In Abia Civil Service

To shy away from its responsibilities of regular payment of salaries and entitlements due Abia civil servants, Abia state government introduced a sadistic slogan of division which presents civil servants in Departments and Agencies of government as inferior with their classification as “Non Core Civil Servants”.

This classification that was alien to Abians prior to the emergence of the Okezie Ikpeazu led government has been adopted as an excuse to deepen the heinous culture of non-payment of workers salaries, therefore causing the collapse of these institutions while enabling the impoverishment of their staff and family members.

Because Dr. Alex Otti understands how important and strategic these institutions are in the advancement of the welfare of Abians and general economic development of Abia state, he would not only erase this strange practice, he would ensure that discipline and sanity are restored in those institutions through the enthronement of effective management teams while ensuring regular and uninterrupted payment of salaries and other entitlements to workers as a way of encouraging impressive service delivery.

In doing this, the Otti led government would restore sanity and bring back the lost glory of institutions like ABSUTH, ABSU, ASCETA, School of Health Technology Aba, Abia Poly, Hospital Management Board etc.
