N193B Worth Of Coc@ine: We Didn’t Destroy All Evidence – NDLEA Clarifies Amid Knocks

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has said that it did not destroy all the N193 Billion worth of cocai-ne recovered from a warehouse located in an isolated estate in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

The NDLEA, came under fire as some Nigerians queried why the agency should destroy an evidence when the suspects are yet to be tried in court.

One of those who had knocked the NDLEA for burning the cocain-e on Tuesday, was popular Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, aka Falz.

Falz wrote’

“This administration must really think that we are daft sha! What is this lamba that the NDLEA is giving with this cocain-e seizure saga? dey burn evidence?

Clarifying, the Director, Media & Advocacy to the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi on his Twitter handle, said the agency destroyed only 1.8tons of cocain-e recovered.

The statement earlier released by the NDLEA read in part;

Following the historical seizure, which is the largest in the Agency’s history, an order of the Federal High Court in Lagos was obtained for the public destruction of the consignment.

out of the 1.8-ton seizure, 1, 828 blocks of the cocaine will be crushed and set ablaze while the remnant will be secured for purpose of prosecution of the suspects who were brought to witness the procedure and sign the certificate of destruction.
