He was named the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2023 national elections.

Dumebi Kachikwu Early Life

Dumebi Kachikwu is the younger brother to Ibe Kachikwu, the former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.

Dumebi Kachikwu was born on December 20th 1970. Kachikwu professes to be a Christian.

Dumebi Kachikwu Career

Dumebi Kachikwu, who joined the ADC in October 2021, ran for president of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in 2019.

After 977 votes, he was declared the winner; Moghalu received 589 votes, and Chukwuka Monye received 339 votes.

In the presidential primary in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, eight other candidates competed.

He promised to establish equal opportunities for men and women, as well as a better welfare package for teachers, as well as a technology-driven education and healthcare system to combat medical and education tourism.

The ADC presidential candidate promised to fight corruption by ensuring that Nigerian workers are paid better wages and that contemporary cities with greater amenities, world-class health facilities, and inexpensive internet access are built throughout the country.

He vowed to channel the tremendous energies of youths towards useful endeavors such as trading with their technical talents rather than engaging in ‘yahoo’ scams.

He stated that if elected President, he would work with state governments to invest in power generating and broadband internet infrastructure, while limiting governmental and private sector activity to distribution alone.

“Together, we can develop a new cuisine for our people,” Kachikwu remarked. We shall reconstruct Nigeria from the ground up, removing the defective and antiquated colonial basis that currently underpins our existence.

As Nigerians, we must establish our common charter and build a new nation that is not only inclusive of everyone, but also ensures equal rights and expression to everyone, regardless of tribe, tongue, or religion.

Before any other identification, this new Nigeria must be established. As we eliminate the colonial artifacts of division, mistrust, and hostility, it will be our common tie.

“No longer will we engage based on Hausa, Ibo, and Yoruba or North and South but on the basis of Nigeria, our only fatherland. We will resist all those who make religion and tribe their mantra.

It will no longer be business as usual. We will zone out all proponents of zoning and usher in a Nigeria that promotes merit, character, and know-how above primordial sentiments.

“Every component of Nigeria is blessed with those who have the talents and abilities to pilot the affairs of Nigeria and we must create the enabling environment for these people to emerge in government and governance.

Nigeria will no longer be associated with mediocrity as we will invest in our citizens, our greatest asset.

The toga of lazy youths won’t stand as we build the greatest workforce on earth. We must build a workforce that knows today and understands the demands and dictates of tomorrow.

We can no longer be in conflict with what we don’t know as we make policy somersaults over modern age financial instruments like bitcoins.”

“We can’t be seen banning and unbanning networks like Twitter, which define modern man expression.” Our citizens will no longer be forced to the dark web and other unusual forms of communication in order to avoid an oppressive government.

The government should be a big brother rather than a huge bully. In the year 2022, millions of our citizens still lack access to light and safe drinking water. This is inexcusable.

“There is no rocket science in creating power, and there is no magic in distributing power,” Kachikwu remarked of power generation and distribution.

Our crippling problems are man-made, and we must deploy an iron hand to smash those who have abused our public service system for decades.

“We can’t have separate laws for different criminals,” he said, promising to bar public workers from receiving overseas medical care and their children from attending foreign schools. If you commit a crime, you must serve your sentence.

If I am granted the opportunity to lead you, the Nigerian Patriot Act will be my first executive contact with the National Assembly. It is a bill that promotes equality and justice.

It’s a bill that declares that we’re all in this together. It is a measure that would prevent public officials from abusing the privileges that they are unable to grant to the general public.

“If you want to work for the government, you must use the same services that the general population does.” There are no private or international schools.

He is married to a gorgeous bride from the same state and has six children, four boys and two girls.
