Hon. Iheanacho Obioma (Chomen), a factional state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Abia State, has faulted the guber primary election held today, May 26.
The APC held her guber primary at Chidiebere park in Umuahia, with High Chief Ikechi Emenike polling a total of 672 out of 907 accredited voters.
Speaking to All Facts Newspaper, Chomen maintained that Emenike remains a suspended member of the APC and as such is not qualified to contest any position.
“anything that is not followed duly the way it should, will end up a nullity.”
“Today’s primaries is a nullity; Ikechi Emenike is a suspended member he is not supposed to stand any election”. Obioma said.
He described the election as void and a charade noting that; “elections cant be done in a motor park; its never done; APC has always done this kind of election in a stadium and it comes out to meet every standard that befits an electoral process”.
He described the primary election today as a kangaroo set up adding that “nothing happened”.
He faulted the use of indirect primary as against the earlier agreed direct mode of election, adding that’ they have destroyed the party’.
Recall that the APC at the National lever, resolved to share the elective positions between the two major factions of the party in the state, in a bid to resolve their differences.
