President Muhammadu Buhari has approved reinforcement of security personnel and arms to help tackle insecurity in Imo state.
All Facts Newspaper had reported that two police stations and the house of Prof. George Obiozor, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, were attacked and burnt on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
AFNEWS reported that the President on Monday invited Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, the Economic Adviser and the Minister for Power to the villa for briefing.
Giving an update on his meeting with Mr. President, governor Uzodinma wrote on his verified social media handle;
Today, I briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent security situation and insurgence that Imo State witnessed and how our security agencies have repelled such attacks gallantly, while presenting intelligent approaches to a long lasting solution.
Concerned about the recent developments which directly affected the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Ambassador George Obiozor, Mr. President graciously approved immediate deployment of the suggested renaissance approach.
We will continue to embrace and apply credible measures in sustaining the peace and normalcy we restored in our State.
