A couple in Baghdad have set a new record for the shortest marriage ever as they called it quits at their wedding reception venue because of the bride’s choice of song.

The groom, according to local reports, divorced his newly wedded wife after she requested the Syrian song “Mesaytara” by Lamis Kan. The song’s title which translates to ” I am dominant or I will control you” left the groom and his family petrified, leading to the request for an immediate divorce.

The song’s lyrics begins with;
“I am dominant; you will be ruled under my strict instructions, I will drive you crazy if you looked at other girls on the street.
“Yes, I’m dominant, you’re my piece of sugar. As long as you’re with me, you’ll walk under my command.”

The bride was seen dancing happily to the song as she enjoyed her big day. This singular act was found unimpressive by the groom and his clan who resolved to end the marriage almost immediately it became official.

This event is not the first evolving around the controversial Syrian song.
