SH-OCKING: How Bank Security Men Allegedly Stole N2.4M From ATM

An Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos State on Wednesday, September 29, heard how two bank security men allegedly stole N2.4 Million from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

The suspects; Friday Audu (43), who lives in Oyewole compound in Iyana Ipaja, and Haruna Anaja (40), a resident of Irepodun street, Oja Oba in Abule Egba, are facing charges bordering on conspiracy, stealing and receiving stolen items.

According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Olusegun Oke, the duo committed the offences on August 5, 2021, at no.13 Joel Ogunaike Street, Ikeja.

The Prosecutor said a staff member of the bank, forgot to lock the door after loading money into the ATM.

Audu was said to have received the stolen items from his co -conspirator, Anaja.

Eleven ATM cards bearing different names were recovered from the suspects.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, D. S. Odukoya, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum, after they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case was adjourned till November 3, 2021.
