The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has revealed that linking National Identification Number to Subscribers Identification Module (SIM) Cards, will safeguard the identity and number of telecom subscribers.
The Nigerian Communications Commission, is the independent National Regulatory Authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria.
The telecom Regulatory Body noted that linking the NIN to SIM as directed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, is the most secured means of verifying and safeguarding the identity and number of subscribers in the country.
