Information reaching AF NEWS reveals that a building under construction collapsed in the early hours Thursday 20th May 2021 in Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia, Abia State.
Based on the interaction with the hospital’s PRO, he revealed that the incident happened between 1am to 2am and that the said structure has been under construction since 2019.

The also revealed that the CMD of FMC Umuahia has requested for the presence of the building contractor so as to investigate the root cause of the collapse. The building if completed was to be used as Accident, Emergency and ICU Unit.
As at press time, no causality was announced.
