The Abia North Youth Leaders Forum has condemned the attacks on police stations in the state.
In a communique released after an emergency meeting held by the Executive Council of the Forum at Ohafia Local Government Area on Monday, May 10, the group frowned at the continued attacks on security outfits by yet to be identified hoodlums.
They charged all Abia youth to be law abiding and responsible in the protection of lives in properties in various communities.
“We condemn all the attacks on various police stations and security ranks in Abia State. We sympathize with all the families that have lost a loved one(s). May God grant us peace and Unity in Nigeria.
“All Abia North Youths are advised to be law abiding and responsible in protecting the lives and property within their various communities by always being vigilant and on guard.
“Do not be deceived into banditry, unknown gun men or any form of violence. Be your brothers’ keeper.
Reacting to the 2023 governorship zoning in the state, it said;
“The 2023 Governorship position should be zoned to Abia North by all the political parties in Abia State in the spirit of equity and fair play.
“ We are calling on political gladiators, heavyweights, big names (politicians ), philanthropists, Technocrats, professionals, Directors and businessmen and women of class, Diasporans and all Abia North men and women in leadership to lend their voice, experiences and resources to achieve this as a collective responsibility development objective for Ndi Abia North in particular and Abia State in general.
“Ndi Abia North, it is time to speak in one voice irrespective of the political party you belong ,we were first ndi Abia North before we become members of any political party.
“Our message is simple, the Next Executive Governor of Abia State should come from Abia North” the forum concluded.
