… Declares Orji Uzor Kalu’s political era over, demands equity and rotation in Abia North

Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex MFR, OON — popularly known as “Ugo’Ena” Nde Abiriba — has thrown a political bombshell, declaring that the 2027 Abia North Senatorial race will not be business as usual.
Responding to a viral Facebook post by political commentator Ahamefula Kalu Aki, Bourdex openly accused Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and his family of monopolizing Abia North’s political space for decades, insisting that the Senate seat must rotate to Ohafia in 2027.
“The truth needs no makeup. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has had his turn, and more. Eight years as Governor. Two terms in the Senate. His younger brother in the House of Representatives. Another brother eyeing a federal seat. Even a federal commission slot. This is not family inheritance — it is the mandate of the people,” Bourdex declared.
Bourdex, a respected businessman and political figure, stressed that since the creation of Abia North, Ohafia Local Government Area — the political heartbeat of the zone — has never produced a senator.
“2027 is not for recycling. It is for reawakening. The Ohafia Agenda is a movement anchored on justice, competence, and the collective yearning of a people long denied. No amount of blackmail, noise, or gimmicks can stop what equity has decreed,” he said.
According to Bourdex, political leadership must renew itself to avoid decay. While acknowledging Orji Uzor Kalu’s contributions, he emphasized that equity, fairness, and political balance demand a shift.
“This is not about disrespect. It’s about balance and fairness. Leadership must renew itself — or it risks decay,” he warned.
In a statement that has already stirred political circles across Abia State, Bourdex concluded:
“The torch must pass. And it will.”
Political observers believe Bourdex’s remarks set the tone for what could be one of the most heated senatorial battles in Abia North’s history. With the Ohafia Agenda now firmly in the spotlight, the 2027 elections are shaping up to be a test of political will, grassroots mobilisation, and the demand for change.
