…says Governor Otti has laid a generational legacy of transformation for children across Abia State
ABUJA — In a powerful and heartwarming message to mark the 2025 International Children’s Day, the Abia State Liaison Officer to the National Assembly, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, has poured encomiums on children as “the true treasure of our nation” and praised Governor Alex Chioma Otti for championing transformative reforms that are changing the lives of children across the state.
Speaking on the theme of this year’s Children’s Day celebration, “Tapping the Untapped Natural Treasure,” Hon. Chinasa described Nigerian children as “the heartbeat of the nation and the living promise of a brighter tomorrow.”
“Our children are not just our future. They are the vibrant pulse of the now,” Chinasa said. “Their imagination, innovation, and resilience hold the key to Nigeria’s greatness.”
He commended the Abia State Government under Governor Alex Otti for showing visionary leadership in child welfare and education, especially with the free education policy and compulsory schooling initiative that have become a turning point in the lives of thousands of children.
“We are fortunate in Abia to have a Governor who understands that no society can rise beyond the quality of its children,” Chinasa stated. “The free education policy is not just a line in a manifesto; it is a lifeline that is lifting children off the streets and placing their feet on the path of purpose.”
He highlighted the ongoing impact of these policies, emphasizing that many children who were once denied access to school due to financial challenges now have new hope in their eyes and freedom to dream without fear.
“We see courage in every classroom, dreams in every school child, and progress in every educational reform. This is what real leadership looks like — purposeful, people-centered, and future-driven,” he added.
Hon. Chinasa also made a passionate call for multi-sectoral collaboration in supporting children, noting that the responsibility of raising a child must never be left to government alone.
“Traditional rulers, religious leaders, political actors, NGOs, private sector players — everyone must rise. Let us build more than classrooms — let us build minds. Let us protect every child’s dignity, safety, and future,” he urged.
Addressing children directly, Hon. Chinasa declared with emotion:
“To every child in Abia and across Nigeria: You are seen. You are celebrated. You are not just a part of our story; you are the reason we write it. Dream without limits, grow without fear, and shine without apology.”
He concluded his message with heartfelt wishes for a joyful celebration, assuring children that their brilliance will never be dimmed under a leadership that values them deeply.
“Happy Children’s Day, Abia! Happy Children’s Day, Nigeria! May your brilliance never be dimmed, and may our nation rise to match the greatness you were born to bring.”
The message from Hon. Chinasa stands not only as a celebration of children but as a call to action for every Nigerian to be a champion for the next generation.
