World Athletics Championships: Amusan Has Brought Hope To Us – Buhari Celebrates
President Muhammadu Buhari has joined others to celebrate Oluwatobi Amusa who broke record at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
Amusan made history on Sunday, July 24, as she became the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics Championship gold in the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon, USA. READ HERE
Congratulating the champion, Buhari noted that her win has brought joy and hope to Nigerians and also made the country’s national anthem to resonate on a global stage.
The president who also congratulated Ese Brume, wrote on his social media handle;
I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating Tobi Amusan and her stellar performance at the World Athletics Championships 2022.
Her new World Record and Gold Medal have brought excitement and joy and hope to all of us, and made our national anthem resonate on a global stage.
