Women For Equity Pay Solidarity Visit To Abia PDP Chairman, Call For Deputy Governorship Slot From Zon

A group under the auspices of women for Equity; a pro-PDP women from Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, on Wednesday paid a solidarity visit to the Abia State Chairman of the party, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere at the PDP Secretariat in Finbarrs Street Umuahia.

The women numbering more than five hundred and led by Chief Mrs. Ijeoma Okorie, praised the diligence of the State Chairman and his team in managing the affairs of the party at this very crucial time in the life of the party.

The group in a press release assured the Rt. Hon. Okore of their total support to the party and its candidates in the forthcoming elections, with a guarantee of massive votes from the womenfolk, and encouraged the chairman and party to stand firm in its resolve to zone the deputy governorship slot to old Isuikwuato district, emphasizing it is the only morally right and equitable thing to do to rebase/rebalance the political template of Abia state in accordance with equitable principles.

Responding, Rt. Hon. Okere thanked the Women for Equity for standing strong behind the Party which they have expressed through the solidarity visit.

He also commended them for commending them for mobilizing the women of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi in the ongoing voter registration exercise and for their promise to vote massively for the Party in the forthcoming general elections.

The Chairman promised the group that the PDP will continue to provide a level playing ground for all as well as support Party in all the Local Government Areas of the State to make it stronger.
