To observe Covid-19 protocols, other members of the party in the LGA were advised against coming to the headquarters, but directed to also hold their defection activities in their various wards where they were expected to be received by APC chairmen in those wards.

The former APGA members who had earlier registered with the APC in their different wards explained that since the exit of a finacial expert and the former APGA governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, the party literally went into a coma, with zero activities at all levels.

Following Otti’s defection, many respected leaders of the party and thousands of supporters from different local governments quickly abandoned APGA for the APC, a development that has massively affected the fortunes of APGA at all levels.

The party leaders were in a unanimous agreement that joining Dr. Otti and other progressives in APC would give them a veritable platform to continue the robust struggle for the actualization of good governance in Abia.
