Why Teachers Needs Mental Evaluation – Laura Ikeji

Popular Fashion blogger Laura Ikeji-Kanu, has revealed why all teacher needs mental evaluation before being employed.

The death of a 19-month old child after severe flogging by his teacher necessitated the social media influencer’s call for a mental evaluation for all teachers to purge the profession of bad egg.

Recall that a toddler Obinna Adeze died after a teacher, one Emeka Joshua Nwogbo, gave him 31 strokes of the cane.

The suspect, it was learnt, teaches in a school owned by his mother.

The baby, who was a pupil of Arise and Shine Nursery and Primary School, Asaba, Delta State, was flogged for playing with water and getting himself wet.

Following this unfortunate incident, the fashionistar maintained it was important to ensure and certify that teachers are mentally fit seeing the pivotal role they play in the lives of children under their care.

She further advised the ‘unhappy and frustrated’ lot among the teaching profession to quit arguing that isn’t the best job for them.

“Teachers in Nigeria need a mental evaluation. We need to know that the people we leave our kids with are normal human beings”, she wrote.

“Mental evaluation for all teachers in Naija. Let’s take out the bad ones. If you’re unhappy and frustrated, being a teacher isn’t the best profession for you,” she wrote..
