President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Mamman Ahmadu as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement as part of a reorganization effort to improve efficiency and transparency. The President thanked Ahmadu for his services and wished him well in future endeavors.

Abuja, Nigeria — In a significant move aimed at enhancing the efficiency and transparency of Nigeria’s public procurement system, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Mamman Ahmadu from his role as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

Presidential Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale announced the decision on Saturday, stating, “This is part of a larger reorganization effort in the public procurement system to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and transparency.”

Following Ahmadu’s removal, the President has directed that the most senior officer within the Bureau assume the role of acting Director-General until a new appointment is made. This transitional measure is intended to ensure continuity and stability within the agency during the interim period.

President Tinubu expressed his gratitude to Mamman Ahmadu for his dedicated service and contributions to the BPP. He extended his best wishes to Ahmadu for success in his future endeavors.

The reorganization of the BPP is seen as a critical step in President Tinubu’s broader agenda to reform key government institutions and improve public sector performance. By prioritizing efficiency and transparency in public procurement, the administration aims to enhance accountability and ensure that public resources are utilized effectively for the benefit of all Nigerians.
