A Policeman and his colleagues on Friday, May 21, assaulted the principal of a secondary school, stripped a female teacher in Ekiti State.
The Policeman, Agenoise Elijah, in company of some of his colleagues, stormed Mary Immaculate Girls’ Grammar School in Ado-Ekiti Local Government Area, after the officer’s daughter was admonished for wearing a hairstyle not allowed by the school management.
On arrival, the policemen harassed the principal, tore the dress of a female teacher and seized the mobile phone of another teacher.
The Ekiti State Police Command has launched a probe into the alleged assault and harassment.
Reacting, Spokesman of the Command, Sunday Abutu, said;
“They were said to have harassed the teachers because his daughter was questioned about the style of her hair cut which was not in line with the school’s directive”.
Abutu said the Command is working with the Ministry of Education to investigate the matter, adding that the policemen have been identified and will be sanctioned.
