VIDEO: Why Man Climbed Telecom Mast, Attempted Suicide In Gombe

A 27 year old man, identified as Umar Abubakar, on Sunday, September, 5, climbed a telecom mast in an attempt to commit suicide.

Abubakar according to witnesses, was heard asking for a wife before he would come down.

After he was successfully brought down by Fire Service officials, he was taken to the police station and in turn to the hospital.

Shedding more light on the actual cause of his attempted suicide, Shehu Abubakar, his brother said since the death of their father 7 years ago, he has been the one taking care of Umar.

He revealed that for some days now, Umar has been talking about marriage and N4M.

According to him, the government is supposed to pay the family a certain amount of money in respect of their late father who worked for the government.
