Why I Lost PDP Senatorial Ticket In Kogi -Dino Melaye
Former federal lawmaker and politician, Dino Melaye has attributed his loss at the primary to gang-up on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The ex Senator was edged out in the race for the Senatorial seat for Kogi West by TJ Yusuf, a serving House of Representatives’ member representing Kabba-Buni/Ijumu Federal Constituency on Tuesday, 24th May 2022.
The election served as a re-run after Monday’s outing ended a stalemate as both aspirants garnered 88 votes respectively.
However, Dino’s Red Chamber return hit rock bottom after his counterpart, Yusuf secured a landslide victory of 163 votes against 48-year-old Melaye’s 99 votes.
Reacting, the former governorship candidate has insisted an ”unimaginable” gang-up led to the futile end of his course.
Taking to the microblogging platform, Twitter, Melaye wrote;
“The primary has been fought and won. I congratulate Hon. T.J YUSUF and thank all those who voted in the first and second ballot for me.
The gang-up is unimaginable but l give God praise. God bless you all. SDM.”
