The immediate past member representing the Arochukwu state constituency in the Abia state House of Assembly Hon. Elder Luke Ukara Onyeani has explained the rationale behind his decision to dump the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA for the All Progressive Congress APC.

Hon. Luke contested the 2015 general election under the APGA platform to represent the Arochukwu state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, and won the election in one of the electoral upset recorded in Abia State.

In an interview granted to newsmen Hon. Elder Luke Ukara Onyeani who is popularly known as Lukeman explained that his decision to move to the All Progressive Congress is not associated nor related to any crises in APGA.

” I don’t have any issue with anybody in APGA , I don’t have anything against The All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, I was treated fairly and that was the reason why against all odds I stood my ground when my colleagueS in the Abia State House of Assembly moved over to the ruling People’s Democratic party in 2015, I was the only opposition figure in the house and it resulted to several denials against me but notwithstanding I could not falter neither was I distracted to reconsider joining PDP “.

He revealed that ” everyone in the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA is a member of the All Progressive Congress APC, i am saying this as an ex- lawmaker and an ex APGA member not as a representative or spokesman of APGA ” he described his decamping as simply a switch from ” the Boys quarters to the main building, you will recall that in the 2015 general election , APGA adopted President Buhari as their presidential candidate , also in 2019 where we had our own candidate , many still switch allegiance to APC “.

According to the ex legislator , “I have no interest yet in 2023 , it is too early to discuss the politics of 2023 now , my interest in APC is to contribute my quota in moving the country forward , I have been doing that in the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA but here in APC , it is going to be better since APC have wider coverage and national penetration “.

He Explained that ” it was the ideology of the All Progressive Congress APC that made the construction of the Arochukwu- Ohafia federal road possible which the People’s Democratic party in many years could not attend to , ” other notable project of the current APC administration in South East Include the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and the 2nd Niger bridge which is currently under reconstruction ” he concluded.
