Why Committee Has Five Days To Recommend New Coaches-NFF
Nigeria’s top flight football authority, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has charged one of the federation’s sub-committees to recommend new coaches for the Super Eagles in the next five days.
The charge comes after the body’s Executive Committee had its first formal meeting since Nigeria’s failure in her quest to secure a ticket for the 2022 World Cup fiesta in Qatar.
Recall the federation went on a complete overhaul, sacking its entire Technical Crew chaired by former interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen and his assistant, Emmanuel Amuneke moments after the Qatar heartbreak that saw the star studded Super Eagles fall to sports archrivals, Ghana.
At the meeting held in the nation’s top brass city, Abuja on Tuesday,5th April, the NFF gave the Technical and Development Sub-Committee, the arm of the federation responsible for coaching recommendations five days to come up with a list of competent individuals.
With the body gearing towards a total restructure, the sub-committee is also to recommend new coaching crews for three other national teams within this same period of five days.
These are the African Nations Championship team (CHAN), also known as the Home-based Super Eagles, the under-17 male team (Golden Eaglets) and the under-20 male team (Flying Eagles).
The football authority revealed ticking the coaching boxes will go beyond giving the federation ample time to prepare for future challenges to eliding loopholes.
