The 36 State Legislators in the House of Assembly, have called on the Federal Government to declare bandits as terrorists.
This was contained in a communiqué released after the lawmakers held their 3rd Quarter General Meeting conference at the Katsina State Government House on Saturday, October 23.
According to the lawmakers, declaration of bandits as terrorists, will solve the insecurity challenges facing the country.
The Chairman of the Speakers Forum and Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, who read the communiqué, said the lawmakers resolved to work out legislative frame works to complement the efforts of the Federal Government to fight insecurity in the country.
He added that the conference also resolved to make appropriate laws to address the fundamental issues such as unemployment.
Recall that on Wednesday, October 20, Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai called on the Federal Government again, to declare bandits terrorists.
He said the declaration would enable the Nigerian military to attack and kill bandits without any major consequences in the international law.
