The Department of State Services (DSS), has said it has in custody, only three associates of the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho .
Counsel to the DSS Barrister .I. Awo said this at a resumed hearing at a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, July 29.
He maintained that his client has just three persons and not 12 as claimed by the counsel representing the associates.
Recall that 12 persons was claimed to have been arrested by the DSS during a raid on Sunday Igboho’s house on July 1.
According to Awo, Igboho’s associates under DSS custody are; Amoda Babatunde, alias Lady K, Diokola Adeyemo Admola and Bamidele Sunday.
He added that the DSS had one Abdullateef Ofeyagbe (the first applicant) in its custody until July 27, when he was released.
Counsel representing the associates, Pelumi Olajengbesi, faulted Awo’s claim and insisted that all his clients were being held by the DSS.
Meanwhile, the DSS failed to produce them on Thursday as against the order for their production made last week.
Although Awo tried to explain why his client could not comply with the court’s order, Justice Obiora Egwuatu restated the order for the associates to be produced on the next adjourned date.
The judge also ordered the DSS to allow them have access to their lawyers between Thursday (today), and Monday.
The matter was adjourned till August 2 for further hearing.
