Another case of extra judicial killing by SARS is underway.

The Special Anti Robbery Squad known as SARS is gradually becoming an extra judicial squad due to the loads and loads of negative media relating to killing, torture, extortion and numerous other vices.

In this latest case as published by Comrade Phils, he revealed the petition of a missing person that SARS have accepted to have arrested.

READ FULL WRITE UP BY COMRADE PHILS:

The elder brother of Mr TARIUWA KINGSLEY reached out to me over the disappearance of his brother Kingsley said to be arrested by SARS on the 5th of January, 2020 with three other boys. Till date, no one has heard from the boys and SARS has refused to say if they are alive, dead or still in their custody.

One of the SARS officers was heard over the phone saying “We Don Travel Those Boys (referring to Kingsley and the other boys)” a likely coded way of saying we have killed them.

See full story as narrated by Mr. Ezekiel Tariuwa, the elder brother of Kingsley( now missing).

Part I:
_______________________________________________
My brother Kingsley Tariuwa was arrested alongside three others at the Boss lounge, a popular night club along woji road in GRA Port Harcourt since on sunday 5th of January 2020 at around 8pm by men of the special anti robbery squad(SARS). The Sars officers were actually cleared by a mobile police man by name ELISHA HASSAN who is in charge of security in the said lounge.

Someone at the lounge who recognised my brother had to call someone who alerted one of my siblings that my brother was just arrested.

We tried calling his phone number from around 9pm it was ringing but no one was picking, till around 11:30 pm when they picked and we heard from the background where the officers were saying ” Shae una say una finish school, make una write una statement abi na we go write statement for una”.. just like that repeatedly. They then cut of the phone and up till this moment his number has been switched off.

The next morning my sister and two of my siblings went to the Boss lounge where the incident happened and met the mobile policeman told them it was SARS Officers that made the arrest, that he was the one that personally cleared them.

So when they came back from the Boss lounge, I personally went to SARS office in port harcourt and I met one officer by name supol Amanze Onyegbula who sent a junior officer to check their cell if the persons I’m looking for was there. The officer came back and said no one like that was in their custody.

He then advised me to go straight to radio room at the state police headquarters so that they can help me do a radio search for my brother instead of walking from one station to another.

I went there, the lady on duty radioed all the stations around searching for my brother but none of the stations agreed to have them in custody.

I was there for more than two hours and it was still negative

So the lady at the radio room advised me to go and confirm once again from the mobile officer at the Boss lounge about who actually made the arrest.

So i went there in company of my younger sister. It was there that the mobile officer now told me that it was men from the Special anti-robbery squad that made the arrest. That the boys just followed them calmly and most people in the lounge didn’t even know that an arrest has been made. That in fact one of the SARS Officers gave him his number. He then called the number of the SARS Officer , put it on loudspeaker so that i can hear directly what the SARS guy would say while I was standing next to him. When the SARS Officer picked the call he then told him that he is the Mopol man at the night club where they arrested those boys last night, that the relations of the boys they arrested are here with him. That where can we meet them. The SARS Officer on the other side of the phone now said,

” Forget them! Forget them! Them don come our office today, commander tell them say no be we arrest the boys. In fact we don travel those boys, shey u understand, we don clear them, no where e reach, nothing go happen, no where e reach”.

The mopol man became dumbfouned and weak because that was the last thing he was expecting to hear. Knowing fully well that i also heard the conversation clearly.

At that point, I collected the number of the SARS Officer who the mopol called from his phone and left.

After then I called the Supol Amanze that I met at Sars office earlier and told him what the officer Said but he replied that I should call back the officer to explain what he meant by they have travelled them..

I then ran a background check on the number of the sars officer that was called on the phone using some applications like Truecaller and others and found out his name to be FRANCIS NWANKWO and that he is a sars officer.

We’ve sent so many people to sars to check on them but they still claim they didn’t make any arrest.

We’ve written a petition to the commissioner of police which he has directed to DCP state CIID to handle.

The IPO at the state CIID whose name is ASP RUFUS is the one in charge of the case.

He has invited both The mobile policeman, the management of the Boss lounge and SARS on 16th of January to appear at the state CIID . Other parties showed up except SARS.

The mobile policeman was detained for up to a week for reasons I don’t really understand.

They invited SARS again and they didn’t show up. The sars officer ( Francis Nwankwo ) denied severally when called on phone by the IPO at state CIID. He said his name is FRANCIS NWANKWO and he is a sars officer here in port Harcourt that also the phone number is his own but he didnt arrest anyone at the boss lounge.

It was then that I contacted the police CRU in Abuja. To my surprise two days later SARS showed up at state CIID for like two consecutive days, gave their statement but did not show up with my brother that they arrested.

The day that the DCP gave us to update us on their final investigation was the day that the OC general investigations who is the chief supritendent told us that the case has been transferred to Abuja as triggered by one of us.

The result of their investigations has not been relayed to us, no words on the state of my brother. The only thing that the Oc General investigation said is that Sars has agreed that they arrested my brother but have not told us his current state. Since then no information, nothing.

The facts are there, he was arrested at the Boss lounge in GRA Phc on the 5th of January 2020 by FRANCIS NWANKWO and his team. And that was the last time he has been seen. My problem is since the Sars commander has accepted that his boys made the arrest, why not they let us see my brother, why not tell us the reason for the arrest. If they are alive, Why still keep them in your custody without letting us see them? Why havnt you charged them to court? What are they up to. It’s been more than two months now and has has not granted access to see my brother and others that were also arrested.

This is the problem that we are currently passing through in the hands of Sars.

Police brutality in Nigeria is real. Extra judicial killing, torture and other illegal activities happen everyday in our police stations.

We recently made #JusticeForChima public and till date, despite public pressures, the police has refused to release the autopsy result.

Only a public outcry can bring some form of justice to cases like these.

Please, share this post until the police authority tasks SARS to produce Kingsley and others arrested by their men on the 5th of January.
