FACT CHECK: Was OAU Student Hospitalized After 58-Hour Wash-a-thon? | READ FINDINGS
Subair Enitan, student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), was reportedly hospitalised after embarking on 58-hour wash-a-thon to beat the Guiness World Record (GWR).
An 8 seconds video had gone viral showing a supposed Enitan, lying on a hospital bed with her palms whitish in color.
Following the viral reports, Enitan who is yet to be confirmed by GWR, has come out to deny that she was hospitalised noting that she has been sleeping after the race.
Enitan in a video posted via the official X handle for the marathon, said;
“First of all, I’m sure you can see I’m very much okay. So to the people trending saying I landed in the hospital. I didn’t land in the hospital and these are my hands. I am better. I’ve been in my house with family members, my team members. I’ve been sleeping. I woke up this evening to take pictures. I have been very fine. Just dey play o. Nothing is wrong with me.”
Enitan commenced the marathon on Friday, 24 November and surpassed her initial plan of 50 hours by washing for 58 hours.
