The Executive Chairman, Ohafia Local Government Area, Dr Okorafor Ukiwe has condemned the unfortunate incident of armed confrontation between a senior politician and some unknown gunmen while on a political tour of some areas of Ohafia.
The Chairman commiserates with families who lost loved ones and the injured while extending his appreciation to security agencies for moving fast to restore calm in the area.
The chairman hereby appeals to politicians to be more proactive and sensitive to the security challenges bedevilling the area and Abia North in general.
All indigenes and residents of the area are hereby advised to be vigilant; law abiding and go about their normal and legitimate activities as efforts are in top gear in consultation and partnership with law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order.
